Introductory Offer

We are looking for suitable competitions to trial the Tablet Control Panel and we are willing to make scrutelle-TCP & scrutelle-PR available free of charge for a period of 6 months to customers who have purchased scrutelle & scrutelle-CM

After the initial free period you will be able to decide whether you want to extend your TCP and/or PR licence

scrutelle-TCP

The Tablet Control Panel provides the facility for the input of marks by judges using their smart phones or tablets See details

scrutelle-TCP also has the facility to display both recalls and final results onto a projector screen

scrutelle-PR

The module scrutelle-PR accepts customised plug-ins which will handle competition data from different promoters and has been used successfully in recent years at Assen & Paris Disney. More details

With competitions becoming ever larger and the arrangements for judges panels more complex, this is becoming increasingly important. Sometimes promoters pass information to the scrutineer just a day or so before a comp. This creates a huge mountain for the scrutineer to climb in such a short time

So we are still trying to get promoters to send preliminary data to the scrutineer as early as possible after booking opens, so that the transfer process can be tested in advance

CM Version 6

CM 6 contains the necessary interface for scrutelle-TCP but has demonstrated the need to improve the arrangement of sub folders, in order to reduce the number of files stored within the main data folder

All Excel files, except the main events file, should now be placed in a sub folder xls

Results files generated by scrutelle-RM for upload to the web site are written to sub folder results

The XLS files produced by CM & RM are written to sub folder xls

A new sub folder tablet is created automatically for use by TCP

The main data folder for a competition should therefore just contain the main events XLS file plus the scrutelle SCT/SCX files that are generated by CM

WDC Ranking

scrutelle is recommended by the World Dance Council and we are working on ways of transmitting the ranking results produced by RM back to WDC for inclusion in their ranking systems

One step towards achieving this is a new button within CM called Extend Results. This merges the results contained in the spreadsheets produced by RM with the information contained within the competitor files originally input into CM

scrutelle smartphone

scrutelle smartphone provides easier navigation through the scrutelle results pages when using a smartphone. (see details)

The final results pages are the standard windows versions, it is just that the navigation is more smartphone friendly. Results from 2009 onwards are now available via smartphone, plus Blackpool 2007 & 2008

search on competitors names

In April 2012 we introduced a new scrutelle facility to search the results for competitors names. This has proved popular

Program Updates

It is not our normal policy to inform customers whenever a new revision is available, because they happen quite often as a result of feedback on very specific issues and constant emails from software suppliers can become irritating

We will inform you of significant updates

If you get a problem running scrutelle programs it is a good idea to download and install the latest version in order to check whether this problem has already been reported and fixed

Also before reporting a problem , please check first under FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When you have got used to a particular version of scrutelle, it is a good idea to save a copy (eg in C:\scrutelle\program\v8.5) So that if the new version works slightly differently, you can go back to known territory

Every effort is made to ensure that new versions are backwards compatible. We will let you know if that is not the case

User Support

scrutelle Version 8.8 has additional options in the top toolbar menu

PROGRAM DOWNLOAD takes you to the download page on the scrutelle website

SUPPORT can be used to open an on-line support ticket. The SCT/SCX files are uploaded to the support directory on the website. If you have been using CM, then the master XLS file is also uploaded

MY TICKETS lets you view your existing tickets (both open & closed)

A web page is then opened automatically, where you can enter details of the problem you have encountered. You can also use this facility to ask questions about the operation of the programs see example

100% testing of all the software, before release, is not practical as different users use it in so many different ways and the size & complexity of different competitions and the requirements of their promoters vary hugely

So that is why we recommend that you keep a previous and trusted version of the program as a backup, so that you can switch back in the heat of the battle, if you find that a new version does not behave in exactly the same way as before
